You have a great general idea.

The main thing here is contrast, you did great with the character being so white and the background pitch black. The glow is nice, the waves are ok too, but maybe make them a bit more subtle.

The white shard particles on the bottom left do not work.

Other than that, your lines are good and so is the face. You need to improve your anatomy though...

Keep it up!

Seems like a fun guy hehe

The expression is great. The subtle wobbleness on the eyes add a lot of charm.

The simple shading works.

I like the solid colors you used.

If anything, I'm not sure about the color spots on the cheeks. Probably could have used another color or made them a bit more subtle.

Nice job. Cheers!

thank u!!

the color spots on the cheeks are supposed to be like blush, but i understand why it looks weird lolol. ill do it lighter and with a different shade next time. thank you for the criticism~ ☆ ~('▽^人)

This is a very nice concept.

The scyfy elements are subtle and integrate nicely.

The anatomy seems great, but I'm not a great fan of the lips though that's probably the style you want to use.

The sleeves I like a lor, the zippers look cool.

Keep it up, Cheers.

Thank you so much for the reply! (just saw it... like a month later XD) Yeah i like the big lips but i still gotta find a way to make it work well. THANK YOU for the feed back!

I love the warm atmosphere!

You might have overdone the shading on the red pieces of clothing. The contrast is higher than the rest of the character. Either tone it down on those, or pump it up on the rest...

You need to shade your hair more like hair, it needs to feel more strandy and less like clay.

Your colors need to take in more ambient color.

The pose you used is great and the perspective and anatomy seems on point!

Overall I like this illustration a lot, great job!

Great autumn vibes!

The background and little forest patch work so well. The colors are very earthly and cozy.

The character itself is very cute. His clothes and "attitude" are charming.

The composition is great as well as your shading and lineart.

If anything you could improve your contrast. The top of your image and the bottom kind of clash and battle to keep the viewer's attention. A little push using contrast would help you a lot and guide eyes where you intend them to focus...

I really like this piece, great work! Cheers.

This concept is pretty good and fun.

I love your lines, they are as clean as they can be and have excellent weight.

I don't think the airbrush your using for shadows and highlights is helping your work. It clashes too much with the otherwise "sharp" style, which is your strong suit.

You could experiment with cel shading or even halftones, that could work best for you.

Anyway, nice work, looking forward to your future characters!

Thanks for the tip!
I heard that a couple times but never actually saw it as a problem...maybe I´ll try it for future pics.
Thanks for the comment!

Great avatar!

The colors make a great match, her skin tone is on point and the subtle gradient on the hair works nicely.

You could try to vary your line's weight, specially for the hair and face (the nose could really use lines that get thinner as they reach the end).

Nice shadow around the neck, helps your sillouette a lot and overall contrast.

Keep it up. Cheers!

MS9Art responds:

Thank you! I appreciate the thorough critique -- line weight is something I'm really gonna try to understand, its a lot more important than I initially thought. I oftentimes forget it completely when doing pieces :c

This is a fantastic design. Slightly eerie in the best way.

Your values are great and the contrast is on point! love how you "inverted" the value on the diamonds when they overlap the character's body.

Your brushwork is great and has excellent texture. But If I can point out any "flaw", is that there seems to be a lot of techniques/stroke styles. Like every part was made with a different brush or using different techniques. This is quite a nitpick as the illustration works, but maybe something to keep in mind.

Hope you make more of this character. Cheers.

I love this.

Your lines have great texture and are very well done.

Love the pose and design. The clothes have just the right amount of detail.

The shading is simple and nice.

If anything, your background could use some more love (maybe some color), but it works fine as it is to be honest.

Nice job, keep it up!

This is a very cool concept, I specially like the sword and what I assume is a button shield/guard, very clever.

The light beam and overall background is very good at making your character stand out, great job.

What you could improve is the runes on the obelisk. What I would do is increase the size of each rune, increase the space between them, and arrange them 1 by 1 in a vertical stack...

Also I didn't get what the silver thing behind his hat was supposed to be.

Last nitpick, the right leg sits on top of that small patch of grass' fill layer, just letting you know, but it could also be a choice...

Anyway, hope this helps you and again, nice job!

Thanks, for the advice, will keep that in mind for future drawings.
